- Day Out with Thomas

Day Out with Thomas

23-24 March, 11-12 May, 13-14 July, 17-18 August, 9-10 November 2019

Make your day a Day Out With Thomas as Thomas the Tank Engine and his friends Percy, Toby, Emily and Mavis, visit the Kirklees Light Railway from the Island of Sodor!

The Fat Controller will be on hand to make sure the engines are all being really useful and behaving themselves and will conduct an opening ceremony each day at 9.45am, assisted by Rusty & Dusty, the trusty platform sweepers!

The first train of the day is pulled by Thomas and departs Clayton West at 10am.  PLEASE NOTE: the 10am train is the ONLY train pulled by Thomas to Shelley. Trains will depart every 30 minutes thereafter until the final train departs Clayton West at 4pm. The remaining trains are pulled by Emily or our home locos, Owl and Sian.

After Thomas returns from his 10am trip to Shelley, he will remain at Clayton West to give platform rides for everyone to enjoy!

We strongly recommend booking in advance for this event. We may be unable to accommodate walk ups on the day as this is a very busy event.

This is done so that all customers have the chance to ride behind Thomas. All other full length timed trips will be pulled by one of Thomas' friends.

Yes, however we recommend you only bring small foldable pushchairs. There is a pushchair carriage on the train if you wish to take them to Shelley, however the pushchair will need to be folded down to transport it.
