This festive season, step aboard the steam-heated carriages of our Santa Specials & be transported to the magical North Pole.

Meet Santa & his jolly helpers inside their cosy grotto filled with sacks full of presents for the good girls & boys.

Whilst waiting to see Santa, adults will be treated to a mince pie and festive tipple and children will enjoy biscuits and juice in our heated marquee. Santa will also be bringing one of his cheeky elves along to help keep everyone entertained!

Children will have an opportunity to write their letters to Santa, complete activity and colouring sheets, make a Christmas wish upon our Wishing Tree and, if they want to brave the cold, have a run around the outdoor adventure playground.

Our Tea Room and barbeque will be open for you to purchase freshly-made, locally-sourced refreshments.

NEW FOR 2019: Start or finish your Christmas experience with a FREE whizz around the duck pond miniature railway.

REMEMBER! You are permitted to take photographs or videos in our grotto at no additional charge, so charge up those batteries!

On selected Friday evenings throughout December, we will be hosting our ever-popular Twilight Santa Specials. As the sun sets in the South Pennine Foothills, join us for a magical experience aboard our floodlit, steam heated train to Shelley and see the surroundings light up as you travel before meeting Santa in his cosy grotto!

All Christmas services last for approximately two hours and are return trips.

FARES

Concessions, family tickets, discounts, vouchers, promotions & offers are NOT available/valid on Santa Specials or Twilight services.

All bookings incur a £1.80 booking fee per transaction (not per ticket).

Advance booking is necessary - the Santa Specials WILL sell out!

TIMETABLE

Dates in BLUE are standard Santa Specials.

Dates in ORANGE are Twilight services OR premium Santa Specials dates.

Please note: the child's ticket age indicates the age-appropriate gift given by Santa. If your child is at the end of a category, please consider moving up a category to ensure they receive an appropriate present!

Visit Clayton West Ticket Office (during railway operating hours only) from 9.30am on 1 August 2019.

PLEASE NOTE: Seats aboard all Santa Specials are allocated. If you need to add seats to your booking, please ensure you call the office on 01484 865727 so we can try and seat your party together.

PLEASE NOTE: These services feature illuminations and flashing lights at the stations, on the train and in the grotto. Please consider this when making bookings for those with sensitivities to flashing lights.

PLEASE NOTE: The 16.40 service on Christmas Eve (24 December) features a small fireworks display. Please consider this when making bookings for those with sensitivities to flashing lights and/or loud noises.

GROUP TRAVEL

Please contact the ticket office directly on 01484 865727 for more information regarding prices for groups of over 15 people travelling as part of an organised group visit e.g. coach tours, charities, Girl Guide & Scout groups etc.

CANCELLATION & REFUND POLICY

The Kirklees Light Railway will do its best to operate the advertised train services. Should the KLR cancel an advertised train, tickets may be transferred to an alternative train (subject to availability) or a full refund may be given. If a train operates and a ticket holder is unable to use their tickets, no monetary refund will be given.
