Driver Experience Course - £325
- Full day course, lasting from approximately 9am until 4.45pm
- Take the regulator of one of our steam engines with one-on-one tuition from an experienced engineman
- Learn how to fire and operate a steam locomotive
- Learn how to operate a diesel engine
- 14 miles of steam driving plus four miles of diesel driving including two return trips to Shelley, a return trip to Skelmanthorpe and lots of shunting!
- Learn the role of the guard
- A "Yorkshire Pack Up” lunch of sandwiches, crisps, a cake, bottle of water and tea/coffee for the participant and a guest
- Complimentary tea and coffee for the participant and a guest
- Free travel for a guest on the passenger carriages hauled by the participant
- Souvenirs of the day including a KLR mug & a certificate
- A complimentary family ticket to the railway for a return visit within a year
- A tour of the engine shed & workshop (subject to staff availability)
