Catering Manager (full time)

We are seeking an enthusiastic & experienced Catering Manager

The Kirklees Light Railway is seeking to recruit an enthusiastic, hardworking, experienced and dynamic individual for the position of Catering Manager.

The successful applicant will be passionate about food, with first-class customer service skills, previous experience in a supervisory catering roles and the ability to maintain the highest food safety and hygiene standards to enable us to comply with current legislation.

This is an exciting opportunity to oversee and maintain our existing catering offer but with potential to develop our catering arm further. The catering section of the business currently comprises of the Bufferstop Café at Clayton West, Shelley Tea Room at Shelley, a barbecue and ice cream counter.  The successful candidate will also be responsible for the cleaning provision at the railway and for the running of the birthday party section which includes rostering and training birthday party hosts in addition to the catering responsibilities.

The railway operates a vibrant special events programme in which the catering section takes an active and integral role. The railway hosts private functions which can include hot or cold food options. This is a growth area of the business. The Kirklees Light Railway currently welcomes approximately 60,000 visitors per year.

We are a very small team and need someone experienced, very reliable, enthusiastic and flexible.

Hours: 40 hours per week including weekends, Bank Holidays, school holidays and occasional evenings.

Salary: c. £20-21,000 per annum depending on experience.
